UNBOUND

Field Manual

How UNBOUND works.

Everything in one place — what the app is, how ranks and trials work, billing, and the questions everyone asks before they start.

About UNBOUND

UNBOUND turns real training into a progression system. Bodyweight skills and gym lifts you actually log level up a character, feed a six-attribute build, and unlock ranked trials. The anime energy is the wrapper. Underneath, every number traces back to work you actually did.

What is UNBOUND?
A training RPG for iPhone. You log real workouts — bodyweight skills like pull-ups, levers, and handstands, and gym lifts like bench, squat, and deadlift — and that work levels up your character: your attributes, your overall level, and eventually your rank. It is built for people who want training to feel like a story arc with real, measurable stakes.
Is this a game or a real training app?
Both, honestly. The program, the movement standards, and the logging are a real training system. The ranks, trials, squads, and cosmetics are the game layered on top. There is no fake XP — every stat is downstream of sets you actually logged.

Ranks and trials

Your rank is earned by passing trials — named rank gates — not handed out by an algorithm or computed from a score.

How do ranks work?
There are nine tiers: Initiate, Novice, Apprentice, Forged, Veteran, Master, Vessel, Ascendant, and Unbound. Everyone starts as an Initiate. Each rank after that is confirmed by passing a trial — a real workout with objective pass/fail standards. You do not drift upward, and nothing ranks you up automatically.
What are trials?
Eight named event workouts, one gating each rank. A trial unlocks when your training has earned the attempt — your overall level, your attributes, and your proven movements all count. When it is ready, you perform it, and passing confirms the rank. Every trial has variants for no equipment, a home setup, or a full gym.
Do I need to be an elite athlete to rank up?
No. The gates reward breadth and dedication — training consistently across your whole build — rather than one heroic max lift. Standards for each movement scale to your bodyweight, and the early ranks are genuinely reachable for beginners. The top ranks are hard, but they are hard the way a long journey is hard, not the way a world record is.

Training and equipment

Do I need a gym membership?
No. Every program session and every trial has variants for no equipment, a home setup, or a full gym, and the app picks based on what you tell it you have. Bodyweight-only athletes have a complete path to the highest rank.
Does the program adapt to my schedule?
Yes. You set which days you train and what equipment you have, and the program builds around that. If your week changes, you can change your training days and swap sessions — the plan bends to your life, not the other way around.
What is the body scan?
A photo you take when you begin — a monument marking the start of your arc. It is not analyzed, scored, or graded, and it is never shared or sold. It exists so that months from now you can see exactly where you started.

Squads

What are squads, and how do invites work?
Small crews of friends who train together — a shared board, seasonal progress, streaks, and challenges you take on as a group. To invite someone, share your invite link from the squad tab; when a friend opens it, the app takes them straight into your squad. It is built for accountability between people who actually know each other, not a global leaderboard of strangers.

Subscription and billing

What is Unbound Pro?
The subscription that unlocks the full app. It is sold through the App Store, and the current plans, prices, and any free-trial terms are always shown at the point of purchase inside the app.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Through Apple, any time: open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and cancel there. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store policy.
I resubscribed or got a new phone — how do I restore my purchase?
Open Settings inside UNBOUND and tap Restore Purchases. As long as you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with, your subscription comes back.

Account and data

Is my progress backed up?
Yes, once you sign in. Signing in links your progress to your account and backs it up to the cloud, so a new phone or a reinstall does not cost you your ranks, logs, or streaks.
How do I delete my account or my data?
From Settings inside the app — tap Delete Account. That removes your account and your data. If you cannot access the app, email support@unboundbtr.com and we will delete it for you. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
